New Partners Added to DPLA – CA, CT, IN, MT, and more
DPLA, otherwise known as the Digital Public Library of America, added 6 new partners last week, meaning that you will soon be able to search the collections of these organizations through the dp.la website:
- California Digital Library
- Connecticut Digital Archive
- Indiana Memory
- Montana Memory Project
- U.S. Government Printing Office
- The J. Paul Getty Trust
(A DPLA partner can be an organization that either already has 200,000+ digital items, or is a collaboration between multiple organizations in a state or region.)
Do you blog about research in one of these states? If so, you are probably already aware of the organization mentioned above. But this partnership tells you that they will have a much broader reach than before, and that they are likely to be a force for gathering even more digital collections throughout the coming years.
They will be organizations to watch very closely, and there will be plenty of opportunities for you to teach your readers about how these collections work and how they can access them.
